Radiant Coaching
This is for people who are serious about their programs and would like to have ongoing coaching. You will be guided in making
your own individual plan. You will learn about journaling and adjusting your food for your life goals - what to do when. You can look at things to do to start while you are actually working the steps. You will be given tools and shown how to use them.
The coaching is done online in a group using Yahoo and Google. We
currently have two levels for coaching - one for people who are newer in the program which focuses on the earlier steps, and one for people who are skilled in the program and want to take things deeper.
I do want to clarify that coaching is not the same as the classes. It is more responsive to you and where you are in
the program. If you want help and are ready to be be guided, this is the process for you. But it Is also about your learning to direct your own process. The benefits you get include learning how to do skilled journaling and to interpret it to really understand how the changes you are making affect your well being.
The fee is $20 per week and is billed in 2 week intervals. It is an unusual opportunity to work directly with me to be liberated from your past diet history. The signup is under the *special* tab on the classes page. If you want to join, please email me first so we can touch base about whether this is right for
you.
Starting June 28Using the Resources of the CommunityThis FREE class will teach you all the ins and outs of the resources in the community. You will learn to navigate the community forum, learn how to use the resource center, check out Radiant Ranch, and learn your way around the website. You will be on your way with an invaluable resource in your pocket! |

“When you eat according to your food plan, you will have a solid sense of self-esteem that comes from biochemical balance, clarity, and well-being."
In the last few months, I have seriously worked this program. I kind of resigned myself to the fact that this was the ONLY way for me. It has been wonderful! This has been a peaceful
journey of letting the food lead the way. I am eating three healthy, satisfying meals, exercising every day and drinking plenty of water. I don't drink coffee or caffinated drinks. My life feels like a gigantic breath of fresh air. And it isn't even hard. My kids and husband are making better food choices because I am setting a much better example!
And now the best news of all....I went to the doctor's yesterday for my annual checkup. I am 11 pounds down from last year, without even
trying. And my cholesterol is down from 288 last year to 228...60 points! I am amazed!
My mom's cholesterol was over 300 before taking meds and now she is battling with high liver enzymes when she does take her medication. When they take her off the meds, her cholesterol shoots back up. Also, my dad had a stroke on August 26. That's why I feel that it's a miracle for my cholesterol to have dropped as much as it did. This program is truly that miracle!
My doctor is so pleased and
she just keeps saying "Whatever you're doing, just keep doing it." My life has been one of bulimia, anorexia, compulsive exercising, compulsive eating and never seeming to have any kind of control. Thanks to Kathleen for all her research and thanks to all who post. It has been a tremendous help!!! I feel like I am seeing normalcy in my life for the first time and it feels great!

Radiant Recovery Store
Just wanted to share this note...
I recently was able to buy the Radiant Recovery 3 CD set on the Theory and Practice of Sugar Sensitivity. If you go to the RR store it's the one with the big bright sunflower on it. Someone on one of the lists had mentioned that she was listening to them in the car while driving places. And I thought that
was a great idea! So that's what i've been doing this week. And I just wanted to share, if you have not purchased this CD set I highly recommend it. I'm currently working back through the steps and working on step three. I've been in Radiant Recovery since 2000. Back then and for many years I held such enthusiasm for the science and theory of RR. It got me excited and lit up my little heart. Somewhere in this last relapse over the last year or so, I lost that enthusiasm and
depression, hopelessness, and a deep grieving took its place. Then when I'd hear someone talk about RR I'd just feel like, ok, whatever. That scared me and made me even more sad. Well, as I've been listening to these CD's my enthusiasm for recovery and the understanding of it has re-lit that spark in my heart. I thought I'd lost it forever, but it's coming back. And that is also helping my step three. I'm more stable on that step right now than I've been in the past year. So
now it's like, let's see where can I drive to, LOL! Just so I can listen to the CD's! I might have room on my ipod to load them there too, then I could listen to them on my walks. Well, I just wanted to share this here. It feels so good to feel that enthusiasm and excitement about what is behind our sugar sensitivity once again. Patti

Radiant Living is all about support for learning how to *live* as you move towards radiance. The stability of your food and the steps will form a foundation to bring you into a new
way of living. We will talk about emotional sobriety, finding passion in your life, disarming things that get in the way, program maturation and, of course, spirituality. When we are caught in addiction, we stop growing, we get stuck and stay stuck. Our commitment to doing life without addiction has catapulted us into something unexpected.
Radiant Living will allow you to share a dialogue with others - people who are asking the same questions and exploring answers boldly and with the
humility that comes with doing the food.

*Why Meditate*
Kathleen DesMaisons, Ph.D.
Many people have asked me about meditation. How is it done? What book to read? Should I get a teacher?
My
meditation is very much like doing the food. Very simple, yet rich with possibility. I thought you would enjoy hearing about how it goes.
Six AM. It is dark outside. Dogs are all around sleeping. I get up, go to the bathroom, walk to the front door. I forget my slippers and hope I do not step on one of the pieces of the yellow plastic ball that got chewed up yesterday. I put all dogs outside and go back to my bed. I am grateful for its warmth. I sit with my back to the wall with a
chunky pillow behind me. I lit a candle on the bureau across the room. The candle is a french candle that smells of caramel.
I set my timer for 20 minutes. It is a brass bowl that will chime at the time I set it for. I look to the window at my right. The sun is starting to illuminate the sky over the mountains. I can see mauve through the trees. I am in the right place. I close my eyes. I remember the dream I was dreaming when I woke up. I am laughing because I would love to go back to
its deliciousness but I tell myself *quiet time, quiet time.* I say my little prayer that quiets my mind. Then I have a thought about a dilemma I had last night. Should I attend the training in October. The answer floats in. I chuckle at the clarity.
*Quiet time, quiet time, Kathleen*. I think about going to Ireland. What will I wear? How cold will it be? I wonder if my timer is ready to chime. I open my eyes. It has been 7 minutes. I notice birds outside the window. The light is grey. I
close my eyes again. I think about my daughter, my grandsons, about camp, rock climbing. I think about paying bills. The dogs are barking the *what are you doing on my street!* bark. I open my eyes. The paper guy is bringing the Sunday paper. *quiet time, quiet time, Kathleen.*
And then I am just breathing. Stillness. Inside it feels like little drops of light plinking on a mirror. Soft, luminous. Still, like rain in the early morning, but inside, not in my mind, sort of over my heart.
Very soft. The rising and falling of my breath feels like someone is breathing me.
Then I hear the ding of the chime way far away. I open my eyes. No, it is not raining, dogs are all out there, lying in the grass watching birds, looking for dogs, walkers, coyotes, whatever they imagine might come by,. I feel still, very still.
If You Listen, Your Body Will Speak. |
