Tasty chutney to go with your Thanksgiving meal! Use in lieu of cranberry sauce.
Peel and cut up the oranges and set aside one of the rinds.
In a medium pot, add the apple juice, oranges, and orange rind. Simmer for 15 minutes.
Then add the cranberries and walnuts. Simmer for 15 minutes until it thickens.
Stir in the cinnamon and nutmeg.
Yields: 32 servings (1 quart) (servings size is 2 TBS)
Be mindful that if you are not doing sugar, this is probably not the bet option for you 🙂
4 Valencia oranges
4 cups apple juice
2 lbs cranberries, fresh
1 ½ cups walnuts or pecans
1 tsp cinnamon
pinch nutmeg
