WORKING WITH KATHLEEN
Coaching is a special offering for people who are serious about enhancing their programs and would like to have ongoing coaching. Support is provided in a small group with people who are looking at similar concerns. Kathleen is part of each
coaching group. This is not a class but is a process to support your progress. We have added a special chat for people in coaching. It meets twice a week to accommodate those who are in Greenwich Mean Time and those who are in USA time. If you are just starting, own the Step lists to learn the basics.
Coaching includes several options now: Return to Radiance Coaching for those who have done the steps in the past and then drifted and would like to get back on track. This is a good place to plug in if you have gotten wobbly and would like to restart your program.
Skilled Coaching is for people who are steady on the steps and ready to work on Step 7 life skills.
The fee for these three coaching options is $20 @ week, billed in 2 week intervals. The coaching is done in an email group and assumes active participation by the members. The process includes peer support with guidance and direction by Kathleen.
If you wish to join coaching send an email and say what you are interested in and why.
I also provide individual intensive coaching called Signature
Coaching. I can help you step out of the craziness of sugar addiction, return to steadiness and clarity after slipping away, slow down and focus on your recovery, or deepen a steady rhythm of recovery. This particular option is especially helpful if you did the steps a while ago and then kinda meandered away. Or if you are facing some
intense times and would. like skillful support. But I can tell you that it is a good time to do coaching.
This is a 3 month process that includes doing an in-depth assessment of where you are in the process, designing an individual plan for you and then talking with me once a week via phone or Zoom to work on your progress. You will learn to do an efficient journal and to identify your strengths and challenges.
This is the way to step out of feeling overwhelmed with where to start and what to do. Because it is so individualized, we can work on what is right for you at this point in your journey. People tell me that coaching helps them feel safe and focused. We work with your
style, your rhythm. This is a unique opportunity to release your fear and let go of shame. The guidance can shorten and ease your process so that in 3 months you will do what you might take a year to do on your own. Signature coaching is also an excellent way to tackle any special needs you may have. like wanting to get sober, or dealing with insulin resistance, or integrating doing the food with special medical concerns.
And in fact, we have developed some creative personalized plans especially suited to where people are in the program and what will work best to support them. Call 505-345-3737 if you would like to chat.

"Remember that you are literally learning a new language. You are going to have to practice to become fluent in body talk."
I am including quotes from the men in our community so you can hear their voices.
Hi. I'm glad to see everyone. Looking forward to your thoughts and ideas, as we 'do the food'.
I am Step 7 for a year and a half. The changes are remarkable, in many respects. I am 65+... still working full time as a trust officer/wealth management person (no, I do not qualify as such a client...). Have five children, five grandchildren... I am the oldest of six kids. Jeanne is my most wonderful wife. I am really enjoying what I do and what I've become.
- I am now calm... able to handle great amount of stress and difficult things, with aplomb
- I plan my work... somewhat... much more than the old me... which was never
- I found a sense of humor.. never had that in my life
- My skin color is changed... people just think I spend time in FL ... ha...
- I now meditate ... twice a day... my spiritual life is deepening
- Exercise now is a routine; great feelings of well being...
- Feelings of Radiance ... that glow... appear from time to time... I look forward to when it's all the time..
- I am usually on time to things (old me... never on time)
- I listen a great deal (old me... always talking)
- I am making a couple of good friends (old me... never had a close friend in my entire life)
I won't carry on more: suffice to say, 'doing the food' is having the effect that Kathleen said it would.
Peace and Joy
Jim

- 3 T flour ( any kind, I use Kathleen's baking mix)
- 1 tsp salt
- Dash of pepper
- 1 tsp baking powder ( omit with Kathleen's baking mix)
- Oil for frying
- Grate potatoes, skin and all. I usually use a lighter skin potato like red bliss and I sometimes throw them in the food processor.
- Grate the onion.
- Squeeze the extra moisture out of the potato and onion.
- Combine all other ingredients, mix well.
- Heat oil in medium frying pan, drop by tablespoons, and fry until bottom is golden brown. Flip and brown other side. Drain on paper towels.
- Serve with applesauce or sour cream.

David, my oldest son, runs our store. He makes sure your orders go out quickly and works with you to find the best things suited to where you are in your process.
I have noticed that a lot of you are ordering things as gifts. What fun is that! Make sure to check out the pacs we are offering. We started this tradition last year at Christmas time. I know that folks LOVED getting an assortment. I am happy to pack up any collection of things you would like me to send out. And If you
want to include a gift card, just write me instructions on the order sheet and I will personally add it.
I love helping to make your generosity a reality!
If you haven't been to the store for a while, how about just coming over and browsing. You will be thrilled to see all the changes!
Please send questions and suggestions. I love hearing from you and truly want to help you do your program better.
Come visit our STORE. Call 505-345-3737.

Your Last Diet: More Than What You Think
|
I am feeling settled with YLD these days. People are having fun, getting out of diet head and having some major success.
Even more exciting is what is happening with chats. The Euro chats are funny. The Monday chat is a delight. I love the questions and answers that are coming out from that chat. They are so helpful. And Wednesday evening continues to be the highlight of my week. Last week we tried really hard to *work* but we started having so much fun, it was hard to stay on task. It is pretty amazing to think how far we have
come. Chats used to be serious stuff. People were anxious and overwhelmed by being fat. Now the culture is one of such hope. We have a solution that we know works. Our task has become simply to help people stay focused on the doing. It is so exciting to watch.
If you are not a YLD member, come and join us. Click here if you are ready to change your life or just plain ole have fun. It is not too late to get into the classes if you come right now

A Celebration of Light
Kathleen DesMaisons, Ph.D.
I wrote this in 2018. I still love it. I wanted those of you who are new to get a chance to read it.
I have been lighting candles. New Mexico is very dark at night. The sky is clear and you can see light from very far away. I love seeing the candles as I stand outside and look in the house.
This month is the time of deepest darkness. We have these special days, days of celebrating that even in the darkness, a tiny spot of light can be seen. Many folks have wobbled and relapsed this month. And the feelings of relapse are always the fear and desperation that we all know so well. Christmas filled with sugar and treats is a double edged sword. We think those things
are such a part of celebrating and that just a little won't matter. We think we will just *celebrate* and then January first we will once again make the resolve to clean it up and do it.
Today, I am going to invite you to try something new. Do not wait until January first, but today start holding the idea of light coming. Each choice we make can build more light. And connecting here to others who are committed and willing and gaining skill is a mighty tool. The loving and funny conversations on the forum will support you and hold you up. Humor and connection
heal us. I believe that all the traditions that remember the light at this time of year can help us remember our own inner light. Sometimes it feels that the draw is to spending money and struggling, or rushing around, but it is a time to reflect on healing. No matter what the circumstances you are in this year, invite the light and ask that it fill you.
