I would never have imagined that changing the food could change my life like this. It just keeps getting better.

** Testimonial for the Week**

I am always grateful for the wisdom you have to share. I remember Kathleen saying that about what you think is helping you might be hurting you. That spoke very loud to me too. I have been starting to grasp the concept of daily maintenance of my BE's in a thing I call "snowballing." I have a lot of problems with muscle tension and once it starts I let it snowball and get out of control. Instead of hearing the tension as my body's way of telling me to stop what I'm doing and go take a rest, I keep pushing and letting the situation get bigger and more stressful in my mind.

I have started to treat this tension just like meal times. When the clock gets to lunch time sometimes I'm working on something and I don't want to stop but I do stop and have lunch because I have to in order to take care of myself. When I start to feel the beginnings of snowballing tension now, I stop and rest, reframe things, and treat it as urgently as I get food into my body when I need it.

Hopefully these daily care measures will begin helping soon. Thank you for your concern and helpful words!

Linda :)

**Recipe of the Week**

Wild Rice and Sweet Potato Stuffing

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine wild rice, salt and water. Bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer for 45-60 minutes or until grains open. Drain and set aside.
  2. In another saucepan, combine sweet potatoes with enough lightly salted water to cover. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let simmer for about 15 minutes until potatoes are tender but not mushy. Drain, set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat 2 TBS. Olive oil over medium high heat. Add garlic, onion and celery and saute until vegetables are fragrant. That will be about 2 minutes.
  4. Add apples, poultry seasoning, and pepper. Continue to saute another 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
  5. Combine wild rice, sweet potatoes and apple mixture. Add chopped parsley and combine well. Add almonds and toss.
  6. Use stuffing to fill poultry. Or you can put the stuffing into a lightly greased casserole dish and bake at 350 for 25 minutes until golden and heated through.

**Your Last Diet: More Than What You Think**

Our weight loss experiment is on its way. We have two groups now specifically looking at issues to amp up their success. One is the regular YLD weight loss group, the other a special task force of people who had been doing everything and were ready for a special project.

The weight loss group has been hopping. I can barely keep up with their emails they have so much to say. People are excited and energized. The Foundation Group and the main YLD group are talking and talking. So much energy!!

**Radiant Ambassadors**

At the Oakland Trade show a young woman and her husband walked past the table but looked back over their shoulders. She was wildly excited about Little Sugar Addicts and plans to carry it in her store. She took 10 cards for the mothers in a craft group she teaches on Saturdays. Asked for them!

Carrie

If you love the program, consider joining the ambassador group. We are having a blast!

If you haven't gotten any cards to pass out yet, order them now. They are free! It is a great way to spread the word.

Come find us among the Online Groups

Please send questions and suggestions for items you might like to see in our store. YOU are building our store. Tell me what you want and we will sort it out.

An Overview of our Resources
by Kathleen DesMaisons

A number of new people have come in recently and started making their way around the site and the community. There is a lot to check out. We have this newsletter, we have a resource center full of goodies, we have books and audio tapes and supplements that I have hand chosen for you over the years. We also have 85 special email lists geared to many needs and many different places on the program.

Starting next week, I am going to be using this space to feature those lists. Each week, we will highlight one of the lists and tell you more about it.

I am also going to add a new section called *What's New* in the community so as we add new services or products you can easily find them and understand what they include. Some of the things on the schedule include adding new special online classes in topics that you have been asking about. We will also be doing some tele-seminars to take you further in learning more about specifics of the science of your program. And, by popular demand, I will be starting some *fireside chats* which will offered by phone. You can call in and hear a talk and then have a question and answer time. It is sort of like taking the YLD chats to a newer level. As we bring each of these new services to you, I will spend time in the newsletter briefing you on what they are and how they work.

In addition, you will see starting next week that I will be highlighting one of our leadership team each week. They are an awesome group of people who volunteer their time generously and with great expertise and commitment. I want you to know and love them as I do.

And, as always, if you have thoughts and ideas, please write me and let me know.
