** Testimonial of the Week ** Hi all Today I had a work meeting with one person in a bar called HaHa. They ordered food, I ordered a cup of peppermint tea and got my tupperware out with chicken, whole wheat sandwich and red pepper chunks...no-one battered an eyelid (or perhaps that should be batted. The person I was interviewing laughed and none of the people working there asked me to leave...I smiled very nicely at them all! ** Radiant Ambassadors ** The ambassadors list has been having a look at Yahoo! Answers recently. It's a website where you can ask any question you like and hopefully someone will come along with the right answer. I've been keeping track of any questions to do with sugar addiction and answering them when they appear. I received a very nice email from Yahoo! Answers recently to tell me that my answer had been voted the best out of all of those offered! Here's the link if you'd like to have a look: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100308160716AAlf79W What I love about leaving comments is that not only does it recommend a solution to dieting and depression to the blogger or Yahoo user, but it’s also there for everyone to search at a later date! Selena Come join us if you are excited about spreading the news. **********************************************************************
** How I Found Radiant Recovery ** For me it was so odd. I had never ever ordered anything from Amazon, and it was right before Christmas in the year 2000, and into my email box came an email from Amazon advertising Kathleen DesMaisons' new book, The Sugar Addicts Total Recovery Program. I, at the time, was so convinced I had a sugar addiction but couldn't find help, let alone someone that believed it. I immediately bought the book and started doing it with a friend of mine. My friend stopped about 3 months into it, but I kept on. Patti **********************************************************************
** Radiant Kitchen ** Hi Everyone, I wanted to share with you the dinner that we had on Wednesday night. I say "we" as I am visiting here on my trip and it was a collaborative effort. Diane has never had the Stateside traditional St. Patrick's Day Dinner of corned beef and cabbage...more of the New England boiled dinner. Since I was arriving late Tuesday night, I told her if she bought the corned beef and the trimmings, I would make it for her. Alas...it was too late to order the meat from the butcher, but when does that ever stop radiant cooks??? We looked up recipes online together and found one that seemed simple enough and we decided to brine our own. So off Diane went to shop. After gathering all the ingredients, into the crock pot went the piece of meat as I traveled eastward on the train, receiving updates as I passed through Colorado, Kansas, Chicago, and Pennsylvania as to how it was "smellin' so good". When I opened the crock pot on Wednesday, you could have knocked me over with the wonderful aroma...I was sooooooo psyched. Into the pot with the cooking liquid went the meat. As it simmered merrily along, I had also promised Diane her first taste of Irish Brown Bread (Dark Irish Soda Bread). I put that all together and warmed the house with the hearty smells from the hot oven (yes, it is cold here to a Californian). Then on to the carrots and the tiny, red creamer potatoes. I pulled the meat and added the cabbage to the stock pot in the corn beef liquid...just a few more minutes and the bread was done, complete with local butter that was really yummy. We opted to leave out the salt peter, so instead of pink corned beef, the meat was just corned meat. My poor brain kept looking at it thinking it was about to eat sauerbraten, but when I bit into that first piece...oh heaven!! It was absolutely the best corned beef I have ever had! I have posted some photos of the feast in the Photos section of the Radiant Creative Cooking list, do have a look...and if anyone is interested, we can post the recipe for you later. The cooking hasn't stopped since Wednesday. What do two radiant cooks do together to have fun??? Well, cook, of course, lol. Future meals include scallops wrapped in bacon, wonderful homemade sausage from a farm down the road for biscuits and gravy, and waffles with Maine blueberries...and of course, it wouldn't be Maine without lobster. What fun things have all you creative cooks been whipping up in your kitchens lately? I would love to hear...we may add them to the menu. I might never make it back home to California if I don't stop cooking. (smile) PE For more great program-friendly recipes, check out these great cookbooks in the store. **********************************************************************

** Our Online Groups ** The step 3 list is where we learn steady, steady, steady. Three meals a day with protein sounds so simple and yet there is a lot more there than you might first imagine. We have an amazing new nano-steps chart to help you visualize the progression of the step one piece at a time. This week, we’ve been talking a lot about lunches, different planning styles, organizing our kitchens, some great recipes, and more. We’re having fun getting good food on time. Come and join us! **********************************************************************
**Radiant Ranch ** Kathleen DesMaisons, Ph.D.
I know I wrote some about ranch earlier this year, but I thought it would be fun to give you an update about our plans. Sometimes new people get frustrated with what seems to be a more casual approach to our planning the agenda. But truth be told, what I do is see the mix of people who are coming and then plan what to present around that. We have a mix of long-term folks and new people who are starting off and want to learn how the program works. And I always love to use ranch to showcase the new ideas that have been emerging over the prior year. We kinda do something in chat, and then in a class, and then I work it and work it and present it at ranch. So this year, I have three things: The revision of the steps into an interactive and organic process. Some of you who have been on the step three list know we introduced those nano steps in a chart. It was really fun and got me thinking about how exciting it would be to apply this to the other steps. We talked about this in chat, and the participants shared my enthusiasm. Now I am working on an animated presentation and will showcase this at ranch. And then for the more advanced people we will do the material that I first presented in the last addiction amoeba class. Finally, I will be presenting on the role of emotional healing for sugar sensitive people. I know the package will be remarkable. So...great content. But the most exciting part of ranch is the connection to the people who truly, truly love the program, know how to do it skillfully and love to share their passion. There is nothing quite like being with a room full of people who get it. We are in the countdown. Come join us if you like. Here are the folks who are helping put the newsletter together:
