conference

Hi Everyone! :h4)

I just got back from a really cool conference in Chicago. It was for 3 days from 9am to 9pm! Thankfully we got out early most nights.

I met a lot of cool people and learned a ton. I am still digesting it all and settling in.

It made me realize how special Ranch is in that Kathleen really caters to our specials needs be it introverted, responding to information overload and most especially meeting our food needs!

The conferenece people were very kind and loving but the lunches were light in protein and browns it was waaay too much information the first day. LOL.

I made and brought lunch, dinner and snacks all 3 days. People were very impressed with my level of self care and my food brought up lots of fun discussions at the lunch table. One lunch I had spagetti and meatballs and veg, another pork and potatoes and veg and another salad, hb eggs, and rice.

I went for a few nice walks on breaks to get some sunshine and at one point in conference i laid down on my back and put my feet up on the chair to rest and put my back in a better position. It took a lot of courage to do it but part of the message of the conference was practicing radical self care so i was brave and went for it! People were smiling at me on break and one lady even said, "I need to do that!".

Because I live in a suburb of Chicago, I commuted with friends each day and one morning a friend asked me about my food. I shared RR with her and encouraged her to check out the website and get the book! I even told her she was a joy dot for me because she was knitting in the car on the way there which i found to very soothing in Chicago traffic!

Glad to be back,

Sandra
