Re: whey protein supplement

Ok! great info!! now, with data, I can show you exactly what is happening

Thank you for your response! The
: product I am using is Body
: Fortress "Super Advanced Whey
: Protein". The ingredients in
: order are Whey Protein
: Concentrate, Whey Protein Isolate,

it is a 73% blend of concentrate and and Isolate which is pretty low, actually.
Ours is close to 90% just for context.

: Creatine Monohydrate, Taurine,
: L-Glutamine, Leucine, Isoleucine,
: Valine,

those are just extra aminos they throw in there.

Maltodextrin, Cocoa,
: natural and artificial flavors,

sugar and chocolate for flavor

: Soy Lecithin,

the lethicin is sprayed on the whey to make it mix better

Cellulose Gum,

this makes it *feel* thicker :h3)

: Acesulfame Potassium, Sucralose.

These are sweeteners...and personally I think sucralose is scary but that is my bias...
I
: don't know what this means, but it
: advertises having over 8 grams of
: BCAA's, Crystalline Taurine, and
: Lean Mass Activators.

:h11) that is marketing...it is simply protein.

I have 1
: scoop per morning in a 10 ounce
: glass of 1% milk, which provides a
: total of 36 g protein.

so 10 from the milk and 26 from the powder?

if you just count the powder, it would be just 26.

have it
: with whole wheat bread, triscuits,
: or rye Wasfa crackers.

Ok, this is a major problem. It is not enough brown for your job. Well, maybe for anything, LOL. You need food, dense food.

oatmeal, maybe 2 cups. Hot cereal....anykind. you will be shocked.
Put some cottage cheese in your shake. Or greek yogurt. :h12) maybe get Restore...it is actually a way better value. Of course it is not in a BLACK jar but it will activate your muscles :h3)

: For lunch I usually have a chicken
: breast sandwich on whole wheat,
: with string cheese and water.

Ok, dahling...this is about 1/3 of what you need. Food, you need food. No wonder you are crashing.

: Since I've been running out of
: energy in the afternoon I've
: started to bring additional snacks
: of string cheese, triscuits, and
: mixed nuts which I eat whenever I
: feel myself starting to
: "crash". As for my job,
: I am a letter carrier. On my route
: I walk 8-9 miles per shift, with a
: lot of flights of stairs and some
: steep avenues.

Bless your heart, sir. Eat more and run up the hils :h12)

I am serious..you will be blown away. we can brainstorm ideas for *more*
ask the forum...and join the fitness list. You are doing 50 miles a week... :h2) :h2)
ask the runners what you need.

think in terms of .7 grams times your weight PLUS snacks.

: Thanks again!
