Re: whey protein supplement
In Response To: whey protein supplement ()

: I have been taking a whey protein
: supplement in the form of a shake
: once per day at breakfast. Every
: afternoon, like clock-work, I
: experience a loss of energy! I am
: completely off of caffeine so that
: is not a factor. My journal tells
: me that I've been pretty
: consistent with my three meals,
: and having protein with each meal.

it depends on what you are actually having. Is it whey protein, whey protein concentrate or whey protein isolate?
and what else are you having with it.

: This whey protein I have with
: breakfast has a HUGE list of
: essential and nonessential amino
: acids that it contains.

that really doesn't mean anything except that it is protein

It also
: contains a small amount of
: maltodextrin and sucralose which I
: am not overly concerned with since
: I am only on step 2.

Well, the sucralose could affect you in a really negative way. I think it is really scary stuff.

: When I eat more protein throughout
: the day, my energy does pick back
: up. But I feel like I am always
: eating when I am full in order to
: avoid this afternoon crash I've
: been experiencing. Could the amino
: acids or other ingredients in my
: morning protein shakes be
: facilitating this afternoon crash?

maybe the sucralose. And it also depends on what else is in it.
and it could be what you are having for lunch.

: Or is it more likely that I just
: have a need for even more protein,
: given the active nature of my job.

Depends on your job :h3)

: Since I always feel like I'm
: eating when I'm full I plan on
: eating more protein dense foods so
: that I'm eating fewer calories
: while getting more protein. Thank
: you so much for any input/advice!

Give me more data and I can help more. :h4)

what is the actual brand and name of the product?
What else are you having with it?
what do you have for lunch?
what kind of job do you do?

happy to help.
