: Thank you Kathleen for your advise.
: I will try and slow down. I am
: finding mornings are fine. I feel
: so much better with my breakfasts
: and although I feel a little
: hunger around 11 am I can usually
: go through to lunch at 12.30. I
: work in a school so I have a
: school dinner and usually find
: myself eating a dessert. Then I
: feel very tired in the afternoon
: and start to crave sugar about
: 4pm. I have just eaten another bag
: of toffees even though I vowed I
: would only eat sugar with meals
: today.
: Why do I do this to myself. I have
: even managed to stop drinking for
: 7 months but I cant do this at
: all. I feel like I am going crazy.

Hi Amanda,
I too am a teacher, and find the work enjoyable but very draining.
No matter how solid and steady my breakfast, lunch and dinner are,
I always need a morning snack (protein & complex carb) when school is in session.
Could it be you need to support yourself when you feel hungry in mid-morning?
Your afternoon slump and sugar craving might be related to not enough nutritional support between breakfast and lunch.
Also, can you rest/relax/nap in the afternoon when you're tired?
It might do wonders for you.
It may take some time, but you can find what might suit and support you.
