your journal will be a really good friend to you finding what suits you best with this over time. I can't answer your question about counting as a brown but you could ask your journal and maybe try it as a 'stacked' or combination of brown as well, thats what I would do, Ive kind of done that with onion bhajis.
I find that if there is something for me that is not in my real best interest, it creeps in and then its once a day, then I think twice might be a good idea and then its every mealtime
and before you know it I have a house full of the stuff and making extra trips to buy it
