Re: how to stop eating fast / binge cravings

Hi there -

these are great questions!!

You asked about being accountable. Posting every day is a great idea and is one that helped me a lot when I was on Step 2 and couldn't get going.

One idea is for you to join the step one list and make a commitment to post every day about what you had for breakfast. For example, you could commit to a week of posting every day. At the end of that time you could decide whether you want to make a new commitment. Step one list is fun because you'll have company on your breakfast check ins and you get to hear what everyone else is eating.

If you don't want to join that list, you could also do the same thing here and we'd be happy to support you.

Another thought - planned sugar is OK, especially on step one. So you could decide how much sugar you need to make your oatmeal tasty and stick with that i.e. a tablespoon of brown sugar and some cinnamon or something. A modest amount of sugar eaten as part of a planned program meal is miles away from sugar binging. This program isn't about "all or nothing." We try for very gradual change and slowly building new habits. This program is about abundance and taking care of ourselves.

Welcome to RR and again - great questions

take care,
Gretchen

I mean
: should I post on here what I eat
: each day...or perhaps PM someone,
: it might help keep me in check.

: Question also...are spices good
: additions to things for flavour? I
: mean, as long as they arenot too
: sweet or addicting...is it okay to
: still enjoy the flavour of things?
: I don't have much will keeping my
: oatmeal so bland each day!
