Hi Craig!
I am right with ya buddy. I couldn't maintain either in the program I was on before RR. They advocated cutting out all flours, sugars, most fruit and of course alcohol, but I was already sober for a few years so that part didn't matter to me. It wasn't long before the call of sweets was unbearable.
However, when I came to RR I didn't want to eat sugar or white things and Kathleen said that was OK as long as I concentrated on step one. I was still having artificial sugar, caffeine and lots of fruit.
Once I got steady on step 3, a miracle happened and I didn't feel all those cravings. When I have slipped and I have, it was because I hadn't been eating either enough food, the right food for my body or the timings were bad. And really I have learned that there are no "slips" , only learning experiences.
