: Hi,
: I'm considering adding a second
: breakfast to my day because I'm
: having trouble adjusting to a new
: work schedule. I get up at 5-5:30a
: to get kids off to school, I work
: 9a to 5p, and dinner is usually
: ready at 6p. I've tried adding two
: good snacks between 11:30 lunch
: and dinner, but I'm still feeling
: ravenous by dinner. I also have a
: mid-morning snack, but I'm
: wondering if I need a second
: breakfast and a shift of lunch
: time. Has anyone tried this?
: Thanks!

Hi Ida:
My work schedule is crazy Sometimes I have to eat supper three hours after I eat lunch and then there is this long gap of time before I get home from work. I would arrive home frantic and shaky Then, whatever was easily eaten - was. Now I bring a planned snack with me. Selections include a couple of cheese sticks and Mary's Gone Crackers, whole grain wrap with chicken and jicama inside, a yamcake or two or an apple with a little tub of PB.
I also have tubs in my car with selections of non parishables that I can go and retrieve if I am mandated to work 16 hours instead of 8.
Food sure beats trying to make it through the night on caffeine!
I agree with the advice to see what holds you the best regarding your foods. Breakfast for this girl is shake with almond milk, 2 scoops Restore and banana, with 2/3 cup (dry measure) oatmeal with RR store flavoring (added on the side not in the shake) - yum!
