Shake - A Friend in Need

So I just started having shake
after a year and a quarter on the program.

I am learning the ropes - today was my third day on shake for breakfast.
But I must say, I never would have dreamt that I would do what I did today.

I was particularly busy this morning, and had to fly out the door before anything
went into my mouth.

I am a teacher, and a water bottle comes into class with me always.
No water - no teacher!
My throat must be regularly irrigated if I am to last the lesson.

Well - last minute light bulb idea before I took off for work :h17)
I took my regular bottle of water,
AND
I put my shake in another bottle and plopped it in my schoolbag

As I taught my 8 o'clock lesson,
I sipped on my protein shake instead of on my water bottle.
None of the pupils said a word,
I don't even know if they noticed, as they're used to seeing me with bottle in hand.

Well!! Shake and I gave one hell of a lesson :h19)

At the 10:15 break, I was already sinking my teeth into my boxed lunch
of chicken, whole wheat pasta and steamed chard :h2)
I always divide my lunch in two - I eat half of it at 10:15,
and half at the next break at 12:00.

Teaching high school is very intensive, and I need proteins and browns a-plenty!
Guess what I do when I get home in the early afternoon?
That's right - I eat :h27)

During the summer vacation, when the pressure was off, I only just about managed to have 3 meals.
Now when school is back in session, I have 5-6 meals, some full-size, some smaller.
But always in the correct protein-complex carb combination.
And always just what my body needs - no more, no less.
I have become an avid body-listener :h5) and I tend to her special needs :h1)

So shake is coming along nicely
and I'm learning to value its convenience and versatility :h23)
