I know I get shaky if I have a blood sugar crash, so maybe that's why she suggested more, smaller meals.
What I do to keep my blood sugar steady, since I exercise, is to have three meals, and two smaller snacks, one mid morning, and one mid afternoon. In the morning I have cheese and some sweet potato, and in the afternoon, I have hummus and vegetables and cheese if I am not exercising after work, and a chicken burger and brown rice if I am exercising after work.
