: Hi Kim:
: I was highly addicted to diet coke
: and worried about that for a long
: time because I didn't want to have
: it with meals and I didn't want to
: give it up.
: When I was on step 3 I got a lot of
: advice for how to move the diet
: coke to meals and then to taper
: it. What helped me the most
: was how hot that summer was and
: that we had to work in an
: unair-conditioned, very dusty
: environment. I craved cold
: water and it was all I wanted to
: drink!
: I have been in recovery from alcohol
: for the last 8 and 1/2 years and
: it was absolutely necessary for me
: to stop drinking alcohol all at
: once or I couldn't and wouldn't
: get better. With sugar it was
: different. I needed to do the RR
: steps to heal my body emotionally
: and physically before I was able
: to give up sugars. It just
: wouldn't have worked without the
: healing of the steps.
: How is breakfast going for you?
: Dori
Hi Dori. Thanks for responding. I have always been a breakfast eater, so I don't find it too hard to eat breakfast every day right when I get up. I have always had pop in the morning, instead of coffee. I might be a little short on the protein I am supposed to be getting. It is reassuring that you had to do the steps before you could taper off sugar. I feel like I will never get to that point. Should I hold off on changing my pop situation?
