Double detox in one month
In Response To: Re: Sugar rush at this point?? ()

Hi Cloe

You are right. I have been focusing on the steps. I used to binge a lot for the first few months. Then it became less frequent. Now I can't remember my last binge.

However, I had gastroenteritis 3.5 weeks ago, and inadvertently gone off sugar for 8 days. Kathleen suggested staying off of it and just eating fruit and I wished I had listened. I was still afraid to give it up and went back to my usual Step 4/5 diet with the daily sugar fix at dinner. Well things all went to hell from there.

I started off with sugar rushes, then headaches, next anxiety, lethargy, severe tiredness and finally debilitating depression to the point that I could not even get out of bed. I have not had back to back days like that since starting the program (note: I do take medication for depression, but it was having no effect this week).

So out of desperation, I have decided to detox again. I didn't know what else to do. I wasn't able to function. Today is the second day and I am already less anxious and depressed. At least I could go to work. I don't know what the heck I did to my system, but I at least want to go through with the detox and see how I feel at day 5. Then what, I haven't a clue.

: Hi Jeffrey:

: Sorry to have been so bossy and
: trying to tell you what to do.
: :s1(

: I came into the program sugar free,
: but not sugars free. Over time I
: gave up the artificial sugar in my
: diet coke, oatmeal and probably
: other products that I can't
: remember. It wasn't easy for me.
: :s7(

: I do feel soooo much better without
: the artificial sugar. It makes me
: cranky and irritable. :s4(

: Good luck on step 6!
