I was lucky when I had a housemate - the kitchen had 2 big pantry closets, so she had one and I had the other. And it was a big kitchen, and we ended up with 2 refrigerators as well. I always found it was well worth while to get extra storage for toiletries etc when I had a tenant so we didn't have to deal with conflicts about that sort of thing.
