I still eat fruit, even though I've been on step 7 for over 10 years. But I make sure to eat it with a meal so I'm not getting it on an empty stomach. I think fruit at breakfast would be fine, as long as you are getting your protein, and on step 1 you aren't eliminating sugar anyway.
It sounds as though your body is adjusting to food in the morning. You will need more protein, but you can increase your protein slowly. most mornings, I have a protein shake, which I sweeten with fruit. I often exercise in teh morning, and the shake doesn't feel heavy or interfere with my exercise. When I don't have shake, I have an omelette. That feels much heavier to me, although it's about the same amount of protein.
I'll bet one of these days you will surprise yourself and wake up hungry.

: well, i'll admit it...the idea of
: eating in the morning and even
: early afternoon is still
: unpleasant to me, but i'm
: surprised to find that i don't
: feel 'stuffed' or anything. i
: guess i always ride on the feeling
: of not being hungry so early in
: the day, so when i do eat
: something during this time, i am
: afraid of feeling too heavy. But I
: found some things that are really
: helping me and things I can get
: down, without feeling
: uncomfortable later...
: - rice noodle soup with some
: vegetables
: - miso soup with tofu added in
: - lentil soup, i love azuki beans the
: best and they make for naturally
: sweet flavor but also help me feel
: satisfied.
: any thoughts, ideas? i am not sure if
: this is too much carb and not
: enough protein...but for now it's
: at least something, and it's not
: chocolate bars or donuts!
: i love fresh fruits and dry, but i'm
: not sure if this is something ppl
: avoid...however if fruits contain
: so many good nutrients, could i
: eat a mixed fruit salad for when i
: wake up as well?
