: Hi Charles
: I am new to the Forum and was

: approach comes in (at least for
: me). I will learn the skills which
: will take me through the time when
: the medication goes completely.
: It has been very encouraging for me

Hi Heather and Charles:
I have been working the RR steps for 3 years now. I have been on psychiatric medication for about 10 years. .. It is a combination that works well for me.
Currently I am concentrating on my journal and increasing the amount of water I drink. In the big picture I am working to stay emotionally steady.
It has been recommended to me to not decrease my meds until I have been steady on step 7 for at least 6 months. Then, with the help of my psychiatrist and a web site called "The Road Back" I will taper off my meds over a very long span of time.
I have trouble staying steady for a long length of time so I have not gotten to the point of wanting/needing to decrease my meds.
For me, doing the food is the answer to blood sugar crashes, low serotonin and low BE. It has made such a huge and wonderful difference in my life that the meds never could. However, for this SS person, it seems I can't do the food without the meds and I can't do the meds without the food. And, that is really OK.
