Good to hear of your focus on healing, and my oh my that was quite an event, losing blood as you did.
I lose a lot of blood cells with my chemo and I can relate to feeling enervated, a lack of energy. My focus is on getting nutrition from my food to get to feeling better, faster - as your focus is, now.
From my journal, I know what my best 'steady' foods are, and I eat those. My sweet potato is soothing to the stomach and nourishes me for a good 'brown'. I eat lots of green kale, and other veggies. I put oil (olive or flax or fish oil) on my food. I eat cooked meat. Fruits too. Simple to approach, sometimes difficult to do in practice. It works though, it really does.
Self-care... so difficult to maintain, when there is so much going on! Glad you have room to breathe and take stock of how you are.

: The summer was crazy busy but I

: steps. I'm still plugging away at
: step 3 with a tighten on 2 because
: I let that slide for a wee bit. My
: kids just started back to school
: last Tuesday and Wednesday I had
: an emergency visit to the hospital
: after losing 2 pints of blood. I
: had a varicose vein in my right
: leg near the ankle just burst that
: morning after showering and it
: poured out like a fountain for
: over 30 mins before medics could
: get there. It was very scary!
: I ended up getting very dehydrated as
: they wouldn't let me eat or drink
: for about 6 hours til they could
: determine the cause in case they
: needed to do a procedure. That of
: course through my food off and
: it's been a struggle to get my
: food steady again ever since. I
: have felt very weak and have a
: hard time eating the amount of
: food that is required. Prior to
: that incident, I was starting to
: feel really good and was preparing
: to move on to step 4 in a couple
: of weeks. Now I've decided to give
: it a couple more weeks to get my
: body strengthened again.
: I know I'll be back to normal soon
: but in the meantime does anyone
: know if there is anything I can
