Don't worry about the sugar now. Step 1 isn't about sugar at all. All it is about is eating breakfast.
I've woken up hungry every day of my life that I can remember, but many, many people have the same problem as you when they start the program. Then they start eating breakfast, and one day, they start waking up with an appetite.
So, what could you eat that has a little protein? Since you like cream cheese, maybe you could have a multigrain bagel with cream cheese. And you can slowly work toward the appropriate sized breakfast and amount of protein. The first thing for you is just getting used to eating something when you get up. Then, don't worry about what happens for the rest of the day. That comes later in the steps. And we add good things in before we take anything out.
You can do this!

: Thank you for this Jeff. It means a
: lot to me because I honestly don't
: know how to imagine a life without
: sugar even...the thought alone
: seems just impossible. I am
: definitely a binge - sugar
: consumer, and it's strange that
: most of my triggers are with
: drinks. I love sweetened
: coffee/tea drinks and I don't know
: how to stop this...maybe stop
: coffee and tea completely? But I
: don't know what on earth I'd
: replace it with. just plain water
: and even plain juices
: unfortunately don't seem
: satisfying enough...I know that
: sounds just plain silly and I'm
: giving bad excuses.
: How long have you been doing this
: program?
