I think it's a great idea to take some time with step 1 - in fact, that's what we want everyone to do. The steps work best if you take them slowly and take the time to be really steady in each one before moving on to the next. And no one here will ever tell you you should know better. I found that what worked best for me was to look at everything as a learning experience instead of beating myself up for any "mistakes" I made.
