Hi Colleen - thank you for bringing this up. I, too, panicked (maybe 2-3 weeks ago) that I was gaining weight on steps 1 and 2, a very scary feeling. Since then, my weight has stabilized at a couple pounds more than before. I am trusting the program (still a scary thought) that it will come off eventually, along with more of my overweight.
And Mosaic - thank you for the links to more information about weight loss. There is an amazing amount of info on this web site. Sometimes it's hard to find, especially when I don't know that it's there.

: hi Colleen
: really glad you got in touch!
: first of all well done on breakfast!
: that good work will be helping
:
: with step 2, I found it difficult at
: first one reason being that old
: 'diet record' Until I
: realised, it isn't the same at
: all. Our journal is a way of
: communicating and listening to our
: bodies, what suits us as an
: individual. Then I felt better
: about it.
: emotional and binge eating - have a
: re read of PNP... the science bit
: is very reassuring - not your
: fault, unbalanced biochemistry
: which can heal though the steps
: here is a past newsletter about
: gaining weight on the programme

: here is an article you may also find
: of interest, that really helped me
:

: I tried combining 'diet' with steps
: and it was so distracting I didnt
: get anywhere except very anxious
:
: I did put on some weight , it stopped
: with a steady step three. That was
: really encouraging.
: That gain is gone now. The silver
: lining is that approaching weight
: loss is so different for me now. I
: used to hop on the scales at least
: twice a day and grieve over it,
: worry and fret, taking over my life
: as you say..
: Iam a member of YLD ( your last Diet)
: and the online chats make it all
: fun. Honestly! From anguish to fun
: who would have thought that
: was possible?
