Hi All,
This thread sheds a lot of light (no pun intended) on the potato issue.
I have been wondering about the potato.
Aside from the few times I had it, I do not do step 4.
My mood is very good and I have no problem "saying no". I wake up happy to start the day, and my mood stays even throughout the day.
I've been on the program for a year and 3 months.
I've always known that sunshine has a wonderful effect on my mood.
Luckily, I have lots of sun here.
Now it makes sense why I feel ok without the potato.
However, I now want to introduce the potato in winter when it's overcast.
Although my winter mood is ok, I would be happy to try potato and see if it gives me a boost.
These posts about the potato have been very enlightening.
Thank you,
Sarit
: Hi Carolyn,
: That's an interesting question.
: I live in New England. I'm outside a
: lot in the summer and don't need
: the potato
: then. But by late summer or early
: fall I put it back in.
: Funny, when I hiked in Scotland for 2
: weeks in June/July a couple years
: ago,
: there was so much sun I was wired,
: barely slept. That's also because
: I was fascinated
: by it being light at midnight and
: twilight by 3 AM. I wanted to see
: all the daylight. But I
: suspect now that it was also due to
: high serotonin--I was eating the
: potato too.
