I'm on step 6 (or maybe 7). I originally detoxed last October and do just fine when I am in my weekly routine of work, yoga, walks, etc. But then a vacation (or even a mini vacation) comes up and it's all out the window. I plan ahead and even take food when I can but nothing helps. I truly think it is related to my poor sleeping. When I get tired, my body craves caffeine then sugar and then it's a mess. I can't get it back in control until I get home and rest.
We planned a 4 night camping trip in a beautiful spot with all of our young adult children and grandchild. I was really looking forward to it and was determined to stick with it so brought all the right foods. I planned to take naps and get enough sleep. Naps were difficult because of the activities but I did get short ones in the first several days. I don't know that they were long enough. By the third morning, I was craving caffeine then that afternoon started eating some sweets then yesterday I went crazy.
I am back to my routine and slept as well as I do last night so today is good and I will likely not have any sugar.
I am about ready to give up on vacations all together because of how they set me off.
I would appreciate any suggestions so I don't have to give up on this.
Yours sincerely,
Mae
