Hi Liz,
I'm also a recent sign up to step 1 - 8 days today!
I loved the starvation high, especially on days when I had a big event it made me feel so clear-headed and almost invincible. And I could keep going right through to dinnertime on nothing but coffee (when of course I would crash and burn horrifically!)
The first couple of days of breakfast were pretty horrible for me. I don't especially like protein foods and find find them hard to digest. The thought of eating three eggs AND something brown horrified me. And actually doing it left me feeling slightly ill and very sleepy.
As most people have suggested, I'm finding I do much better with a protein shake. I only use about 250mls of soya milk so there is not physically such a large volume to accomodate and I have a very small bowl of porridge along with it (about half a normal serving size). I never really feel like eating eating in the morning and the food feels heavy in my stomach to start with but after about 20 minutes it's settled down.
And I've definitely noticed an improvement in my energy levels throughout the day.
: And not getting the exercise I was.
: This doesn't feel good. Because
: I'm busy digesting the breakfasts
: I am sluggish during the morning
: and can't seem to be able to walk
: up the welsh hills (which is my
: only form of exercise). The dog is
: getting quite disgruntled.
: Mind you, I've only been at it 6
: days.
