Journalling

Hi everyone,

When I started going through the steps again for the second time after a long break I initially was in a hurry like the last time. But then for some reason it became ok to take it slow. I started doing breakfast with all the four parts again in April and then added Step Two about 6 weeks later. I am still on Step 2 :-) ... I am enjoying my journal and thinking about starting Step 3 (I have already joined the Step 3 list a couple of weeks ago).

My 14 year old son is also going through the Steps and rather than him doing the journal I am talking with him and helping him notice how he feels and sharing some of "your" experiences with him so he knows it isn't just him that feels a certain way when he doesn't eat on time or enough and there is a reason for it and he can learn from listening to his body and fix it.

He has much more energy now and we have even been able to find the reason for his almost daily headaches and he hasn't had any for 2 months now. He is mostly happy and positive now and is realising that the bad feelings and low self esteem he always had was connected to the way he was eating. He is learning his hunger cues and to listen to them.

Because I am much calmer I am able to support him more when he needs help and encourage him to not be judgemental about himself but just to notice how he feels and think if there may be a reason for it and then he can do something about it.

I also really appreciate everyone's openness in their posts because it has formed part of my learning and explained "mysteries" about myself too.

Happy day,
Fiona
