Re: Bad Day
In Response To: Bad Day ()

Hi Petra
It may have nothing to do with breakfast - that's just step 1, so it's just as likely to be caused by something that happened in the rest of your day. If you think back over the past few days, did you have a big sugar binge, or did something traumatic happen, or did you have a day when you didn't eat much after breakfast and maybe had a big blood sugar crash? Or maybe something super exciting happened?

For most of us, things don't really begin to settle down until at least step 3, when we are keeping blood sugar steady and sugar is at meals, so it has less of an effect. At that point, it begins to be easier to make sense of mood swings etc because food is getting steady. And step 3 would be an excellent time to look at your breakfast timing, and whether you need to eat it at the same time every day. As the rest of your food and timing get more regular, you will be able to see cause and effect better.

For now, though, you are doing a great job with having breakfast every day. I would just accept the fact that there may be some ups and downs in how you feel, and that as you progress through the steps, things will get better. Step one is just the beginning of addressing sugar sensitive biochemistry, and it doesn't solve all of our problems.
