Hi Kathleen,
I'm having 4 eggs with pepper jack cheese. I was using whole wheat tortillas but I found out recently about gluten intolerance. So I had tomatoes this morning.
I understand taking the steps slowly. I haven’t had any "sugary" products since I started. No cookies, cake, sweets, candies, simple carbs etc etc. My plan was to approach it head on, but I know you advise against that in the book. The main reason I wanted to ramp up so fast is that I have downtime now. A time to fully focus on the program. I don't want to start ingesting sugars again because I'm afraid I'll just start going backwards with my progress. I've been on the diet for three weeks now. I was in really bad shape before I found this book. I was very depressed, and having issues coping with life. I had been through countless therapy as a kid because of drug abuse, and I got prescribed plenty of different medications in the past. I'm sure my body chemistry is way out of whack. Things are beginning to look brighter now. It's amazing how much food can impact your body.
My only real problem this far is I seem to be having blood sugar spikes after eating a meal. They last about 30-40 mins and then they disappear. It happens sometimes with different meals but not all the time. I am assuming this is a natural transition phase? Or has me cutting out a lot of sugars instantly made this happen.
All i can say is that I have begun to loathe that feeling of being tired and filled with brain fog. I can’t get much done feeling that way.
