I think it's great that you want to get breakfast more settled before you move on. In fact, I would guess that some of the things you bring up will resolve themselves as you mnove along in the steps, so keeping your focus on step 1 right now is really a good idea.
I've found over the years that what works best for me is fixing breakfast first thing when I get up. That's how I feel best and it's what my body is most comfortable with.
I sometimes wake up very early too and give myself maybe half an hour to go back to sleep and if I don't, I get up and fix breakfast. Then I might get sleepy again afterward and I'll go back to bed.
Do you have a favorite breakfast? Mine is a chocolate almond shake with whey protein powder and raspberries. Two slices of Ezekiel toast on the side. Lately I've been adding veggies to the shake -- usually spinach or kale and parsley. It makes for an interesting fresh taste.
