Re: still at step one

Hi Lea

You mention using Peanut Butter as your source of protein. Is this all you are using as your protein? You might find it works easier for you to find a more solid form of protein, such as eggs or meat or both. If you like having the Peanut Butter because it still tastes like a sweet thing, that is fine, you can have sweet things straight after the meat and eggs or whatever you choose as your source of denser protein, if you want to.

I think this might make it easier for you to not feel as though you are overeating, as denser proteins fill us up more, and then you may not want to eat so many other things such as the slices of bread. You can have say a bacon and egg sandwich and then have some jam on toast etc.

If you are vegetarian, there are vegetarians here who manage to get sturdy proteins from non animal sources I think.

Like Kari, I took a long time to get breakfast down, 6 months in fact. I too, like Kari had blood sugar issues and massive resistance to eating within the hour, especially food that wasn't sweet.

Try not to beat yourself up about it, I definitely think you could find a more suitable type of protein that will make step one easier for you.

Hope that helps

Love

: Thank you Kari. That makes it a lot
: clearer now when the one hour
: starts. Today I'm having a hard
: day even though I got breakfast
: right. I ate an hour after I had
: breakfast just because my kids
: were eating and I like the taste
: of toast and butter, so I had two
: extra slice even though I don't
: need. Now after getting our CSA
: shares and coming home, I ate more
: fruits than I can count. I try not
: to think too much about foods
: throughout the day but it's so
: hard because the more I try not
: to, the more I eat and the more I
: eat, the more I think about it.
: Well, at least I got breakfast
: down within an hour after I got
: out of bed. Today is the first day
: I did all of Step one except for
: the snacks or meals between then
: and lunch.
