A question about soaking grains and nuts

Hi, I'm a newbie and just starting the program. I have a question about grains and nuts.

In the last few years I've made a lot of changes to try to improve my health including eating more 'browns' but I've always had trouble digesting whole grains, especially wheat, and some nuts like almonds. I recently found some information that recommended soaking grains and nuts before eating them to make them easier to digest. I knew about soaking legumes, but had not previously heard about soaking grains or nuts. Apparently sprouted or fermented grains are also much easier to digest.

I've been trying it and it seems to help. Looking in to it further I can see there's lots of info on the web, but I'm interested to know if anyone else here has had trouble digesting whole grains and nuts or if anyone else soaks them?
