Here's what helped me:
The week before my period, I eat a little more browns, and a little more fat (healthy fat like avocado, olive oil or nut butter). I also make sure to get some exercise. So I would eat a slightly bigger potato, with a bit more olive oil, for instance. I haven't had PMS in a few years, so it's not really an issue, but that really helped me back when it was an issue.

: I have been in step 5 for the last
: few weeks. I've moved to almost
: all brown things, accept for
: occasional pasta or sticky
: rice,with protein. I had
: eliminated all overt sugars and
: reduced covert sugars. I was
: feeling REALLY GOOD till the day
: my menstrual cycle started.
: Seemingly out of the blue, I felt
: like I was having a bit of an
: anxiety attack. It passed and I
: felt better the rest of that day,
: but continue to feel a bit of
: anxiety and the sadness I now
: recognize as symptoms of low
: serotonin and beta-endorphin
: levels. Typically, I'd be
: overdosing on chocolate and
: cookie,s at this time of the
: month, but I do not want to go
: back to my old ways and get on
: that roller-coaster again, nor do
: I want to feel this anxiety. What
: do I do at this time of the month
: to keep serotonin and
: beta-endorphins higher?
: The cool thing is that I understand
: what is going on in my body now,
: and I don't feel nuts. Please
: help.
