I have been in step 5 for the last few weeks. I've moved to almost all brown things, accept for occasional pasta or sticky rice, with protein. I had eliminated all overt sugars and reduced covert sugars. I was feeling REALLY GOOD till the day my menstrual cycle started. Seemingly out of the blue, I felt like I was having a bit of an anxiety attack. It passed and I felt better the rest of that day, but continue to feel a bit of anxiety and the sadness I now recognize as symptoms of low serotonin and beta-endorphin levels. Typically, I'd be overdosing on chocolate and cookie,s at this time of the month, but I do not want to go back to my old ways and get on that roller-coaster again, nor do I want to feel this anxiety. What do I do at this time of the month to keep serotonin and beta-endorphins higher?
The cool thing is that I understand what is going on in my body now, and I don't feel nuts. Please help.
