Saw PNP at Job Site!

Hi, all! I don't visit here much anymore, but I will always 'do the food' - it's been about 10 years for me and life is good! This program literally saved my life.

I felt compelled to share the following story with you today...

I'm interning at SNAP-Ed (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program - Education division) as a Nutrition Educator this summer. It's very basic nutrition education. The last site I went to was a career center for the unemployed. I can't wait to go back because behind the desk of a person who was out that day were a stack of 4 or 5 books and Potatoes Not Prozac was very clearly one of them! It's funny how exciting it is to see that the word is out beyond the community that I know! I can't wait to ask them about it!!

As an aside, my daughter (10.5 years old and on the program for the last eight of them) was just saying how if she had three wishes the first would be that she wasn't addicted to sugar so that she could eat it just once in a while, and that the only reason it's so hard is that she doesn't know anybody else that eats the way she does. :( Thankfully she has always understood why we eat this way and she does appreciate the benefits of it.

Thanks for listening, and I wish you all radiance that's within us - it's such a gift to find it and share it!
