: Hi ,
: I actually did the same as a recent
: poster, cut sugar right away.
: I quit sugar about a week before I
: stumbled upon this site.
: I have now been on a sugar-free diet
: for three weeks.
: The reason I decided to stop
: including sugar in my diet was
: because I read
: about this guy who got cured from
: bipolar by doing this. I am not
: bipolar
: (at least not formally, although I
: suspect I might have type 2),
: but according to my shrink, I have
: ADHD and several personality
: disorders.
: My problem is that I'm not quite sure
: this is working. I'm still moody,
: especially in the morning and before
: I go to bed. My fiancé has said on
: several occasions
: that he hasn't noticed any difference
: in my mood at all since I quit
: sugar.
: I gave this "project" two
: weeks, and said to myself that if
: it's not working by then,
: It probably never will.
: Three weeks.. still moody... lost
: 2kg... not that I really wanted to
: loose weight.
: I am rather slim... maybe even skinny
: atm (except for my tummy)
: Am I doing something wrong? I
: seriously cut ALL sugar
: (except for natural fructose in fruit
: and vegetables)
: Still moody... headaches have ceased
: though... finally!
: I just wish I could find a solution
: to my problems... I know I'm a
: sugar-addict,
: I even dream of eating cakes and pie!
: lol
: Anyone here got a clue as to what I
: might be doing wrong?
: If you need more info, feel free to
: ask
Hi Petra,
I am glad you found us. And yes, you have found a solution
However, just going off of sugar is not really going to solve anything. In fact, it could make things worse.
Here is what I would suggest. Get a copy of Potatoes Not Prozac and read it carefully.
Start with step one. Join the step one list. Take the step one class when it comes up.
Talk here with us about breakfast.
Do one step at a time with a beginner's mind. Learn the 4 parts of breakfast..
Eat within an hour of getting up.
have the right amount of protein for your body. Take your body weight in pounds, multiply it by .5 and that will give the number of grams of protein to have each day. Have 1/3 of that amount for breakfast.
Have a complex carb as well - whole grain cereal, oatmeal, whole grain toast.
Do this every day.
Do you think you can do this?
