We had bunco tonight – which is a dice game we get together and play once a month with a group of girls. There is always lots of food. The host normally supplies a meal and the rest of the people just bring a dish to go along with it.
I called this afternoon to find out what the host was cooking. I was told it was pizza so that told me that I needed to bring my own food. So I brought with me a protein shake and 2 small baked potatoes. I knew there would be plenty of veggies there so I did not bring those. It felt good to know that no matter what was there I would have the right amount of protein and a brown. I try not to do two shakes in one day (I have them at breakfast) but in cases like this I allow it. It is just easier.
And my normal eating time is 5:30 and that was the time we met up and we ate around 5:45 so timing was pretty close (just a little over my normal 5 hours). So that was really good. So many times when we meet at 6:30 I eat before hand. I have known this group for as long as I have been on the program so it does not surprise them anymore when I bring my own food. It still does not feel natural to bring my own food but I am getting more comfortable with it.
