Last night we bought some almond butter. We were excited because it was the first time we had ever found crunchy almond butter. Well, my husband took a bite of it when we got it home, and spit it out. It had sugar added to it. It never even occurred to us to check it, because we have never encountered any nut butter except peanut butter that has sugar added. And it said natural on the front, which is what the unsweetened peanut butters say. It was Maranatha brand.

From now on, I will check all nut butters. I gave this jar to a coworker who has children and who buys sweetened nut butters.
