Lori if you follow the steps/program you will heal so that meals will hold you and you will not crave sugar.
Have you tried the 4steps to breakfast?
1. Within an hour of waking ( I do best with half hour)
2. With complex carb I like oats as they hold me the longest
3 with the proper amount of protein for you weight
4 every day
