Re: Fruits and veg
In Response To: Fruits and veg ()

Hi, Meghan! I eat fruit and veg no problem and I've been doing this 9 years. How much protein do you need for breakfast? Do you know the formula to calculate that?

And out of curiosity, what type of protein are you having? I ask because I do a protein smoothie every morning and have for years, because otherwise my stomach's not up for a food-y meal first thing, then I just have a good lunch and dinner. Others have found that a big dinner-y type meal first thing in the morning makes them feel fabulous.

And there's nothing wrong with snacks, most especially when you're just starting out. And if you're on Step 1, don't even worry about the concept of snacks after breakfast, eat what you want. Many people when they get to Step 3 do a snack between breakfast and lunch as a bridge.

I still have a snack now and again depending on what's going on. Like if I walk my dog on a Saturday morning for a much longer distance than usual I know it's probably a good idea to have a snack when I get back while I drink my water. If I did that every single day my body would start to adjust and after a while I probably wouldn't need it, I think.

The point of everything I'm saying is while there are hard-and-fasts to doing this program (like the four rules of breakfast) - beyond this is just listening to your body and what it needs, and the journal helps with this enormously.
