The other day when walking the dogs we saw a beautiful blue herring. BF corrected me and said 'no it is not a herring. A herring is a fish. It is a Heron'. Made me laugh. I think I have called them herring all my life.

I also think of you Allison, especially when we walk past the owl nest up by the school.
