On step 1, you can snack on whatever you want, whenever you want, but when I have a snack, I usually have a complex carb and some protein. For instance, a hard boiled egg or cheese stick and some whole grain crackers,or hummus and vegetables and nuts. Nut butter and apple slices is another good one.
