I was looking at the amount of energy Olympic athletes need yesterday. One (male) who I was reading about yesterday has to eat 6000 calories a day just to keep his weight as it is) I think you need quite a lot. My daughters run and one did the London marathon last year and that certainly required a lot of energy. She eats a lot of nuts, fish, (a can of sardines or tuna fish can be a good snack) etc for snacks.
