Well done for not falling for the donuts.

I don't know if you have food at work that you could eat, but in this situation that you mention where things pop up unexpectedly, perhaps you could arrange a snack that needs no cooking, etc, and have it on one side of your desk sat next to you whilst you sort out your work, and grab bites in between doing work.

I think that is what I would aim to do in that sort of situation, or maybe take an extra sandwich or something each day just in case? And eat that at the 5 hour mark if possible?
