Oh yes Mosaic, Marmite. I even like the shape of the jar and buy it here in the U.S. at the import shop. It was one of the things I really missed.
I like your idea of black pepper and olive oil as flavor. I am also investigating malt vinegar
as a tangy taste on my canned salmon or tuna.
