Joy dot: my day lilies are getting ready to bloom
I used to do my turkey burgers plain - I didn't mix things in. But when I bought a package of turkey, I would divide it into burgers and freeze the burgers individually.
My husband buys cartons of egg whites and freezes them, and they defrost just fine. I would imagine it would be safe to freeze burgers with egg and other things mixed in, but I don't know for sure. I just don't see why it wouldn't be. You might want to wrap in plastic wrap, then foil to prevent freezer burn. Mine never stayed in the freezer long enough to get freezer burned.

: Allison, I am interested in trying
: turkey burgers for breakfast. I
: would need just a serving for me,
: and I would like to make it fresh
: each morning. What's the best way
: to do that?
: I was thinking to prepare the mixture
: when buying the ground turkey (mix
: it with chopped onions, egg,
: breadcrumbs, spices, whatever) and
: freeze in small packages. Then
: defrost a package in the frig
: overnight, and fry in a pan in the
: morning.
: Does that sound logical?
: Is it ok to freeze the turkey with
: onion, egg, etc. mixed in?
: I've never done that, and wonder if
: it's safe to freeze it that way.
: I'd appreciate any suggestions you
: might have.
: Thanks, Sarit.
