Hi,
I think it is an individual thing. Also the best salt to have is the unrefined salt as it has complimentary minerals in it and no additives like refined salt has.
I first discovered that I need salt when I cut down on it thinking it was best to have less and I became really tired and lethargic all the time and drank gallons of water (literally) but never felt like my thirst was quenched (this was when I was in my twenties). I had had glandular fever a few years earlier and was in a stressful marriage so I feel that my adrenals were fatigued.
I think it is best to listen to your body and do what makes it feel the best.
Hope that helps a little.
Happy day,
Fiona
