Hi Alicia,
I think it can be difficult too. There are some people who do understand and a lot who don't. I think it is especially hard for someone who doesn't have a sugar sensitive body to understand.
I am hoping you get lots of replies and ideas on what to say and how to go about going to other people's places for dinner because I find that tricky.
Over the years I have learnt that it works better to be kind but firm (I used to be apologetic and that didn't really work) and to just state it how it is but I still find it hard.
I would like to encourage you to keep going though. You are the one in your body and you know how you feel.
Happy day
Fiona
: Hi everybody. I'm new here. I'm up to
: step 5. Hasn't been easy but I'm
: getting used to it. My problem is
: other people. They either think
: I'm making all this up, or they
: say good for trying, but they
: think I'm being to extreme when I
: try cutting back on sugars. I
: can't get anybody to understand
: how sensitive to sugars and carbs
: I am. They get upset when I don't
: want to eat what they eat. How do
: I get people to understand this?
: I've already given a couple of
: people the book to read but that
: didn't help.
