Jeffrey this piece jumped out at me as I could have written it myself! and like Kathleen mentions, I wasnt having fun with it, just 'getting through' from meal to meal.
I think what helped was the 'listening to my body' concept - this was very alien to me.. been shutting her up for years and telling her what to do... so I thought, is my body saying to have that snack between meals? it was scary.
but it turned out very calming. I think its the best thing I did. It was difficult to guage because I was hungry all the time, or dissatisfied or something, and it felt like I was thinking about food all the time as I had done for years- but accepting it was all right nudged that obsessive sideof me away. that was much more peaceful
Later on, I stopped the snacks but it happed almost on its own when I was ready. ( still do planned snack as and when I need to though)
I think it helped my blood sugar steady. Course, I wondered what step I was on as well, because my head said 6, everything else said well, its 1 and thats quite a relaxing thing
